I just got it last week (14,000 mi.) and drove it approx. 40 mi. with no prob. Then my friend went 10 mi. and it kept dying or actually it seems like it is running on 1/2 cyl. the next day. So I thought BS> so I took it into town and rode it 20 mi. with no prob. then within 2 mi. it did the same thing. Bup-Bup-Bup for a few seconds then takes right off. It did it 3 times then quit. So I thought, I'll run it, so I went another 12 mi. on the highway with no prob. then almost home and the same thing about 5 times and have not tried it since. But after my friend tried it I did tighten the batt. terms. and I will be looking at all the major elect. conn. to engine and starter. Oh and the ground. But I thought I could run it thru here just to expidite the process. Hey thanks for any feed back. I hate these intermittant things. I wish they would just fix themselves or just go bad, but that would make our lives soooo boooring. Keep the rubber side down and thanks. |

Follow the spark plug wires from the plugs back up to the ignition coil under the tank... I had a connector up there come loose and do exactly what you described. |

Hey Reep I did that also.(Later) But it was sitting for a few days and I went to start it and nothing.(I got 12.8v on the batt.). So I wiggled the ground strap and at least got the LED to work along with the blinkers. So I took the ground wires off and they did look clean but brushed them off. Wow I could start it now. So I took it for a ride and it worked good for 5-7 mi. then started to die. Well I did clean some more contacts and it has been good for 10 mi. but who am I kidding. I will keep ya'll updated. Thanks. Clean contacts rule. |

So far it is not totally cured but I think I may have multiple problems. My question of the day is I have a 2000 M2 manual is it any different than the 2001 M2 manual. Hey if I need it I'll buy the 2001 book. I guess even if it is the wiring it is worth it. Thanks Ya'll. |
