Firstly just like to say hi. bout my first buell a few months ago and already have a huge wishlist but this is the first i'm going to undetake. It's an 05XB12R I see alot of people cutting holes and all kinds of hacks to the airbox and also replacement fibreglass covers to do away with them entirely. also found one site selling a different velocity stack(shorter and slightly wider) i believe to make air flow down easier than coming from sides and turning sharply in small space between it and filter cover. I'm curious if anyone has mad their own and instead of sinking the cover into the filter as stock is rising it slightly higher and slightly increasing size of air direction nipple thing above the stack. My mechanical engineering and pneumatics background tells me should work well but sometimes the prac and theory just don't mesh. Oh and planning to make it out of carbon fibre so currently starting on making the moulds. if anyone is interested might be able to make some extras and offload em at a damm good price. Pics will come when i get a finished product. below link is closest i can find but looks kinda ugly once installed. http://cgi.ebay.com/DCC-Air-Intake-Set-Airboxumbau -fuer-Buell-XB-S-SX-R-SS_W0QQitemZ270257628206QQcm dZViewItem?hash=item270257628206&_trksid=p3286.m14 .l1318 |
