I have a 2000 buell x1 and I am thinking that the voltage regulator is bad. What is the best way to check and see if it is bad before i go out and buy a new one. Thanks |

Test the stator for continuity to ground from either pin. No continuity is good any leakage to ground is bad. You want to see a low resistance from pin to pin. Do an AC voltage check with the motor reved up a little you should see 50+ volts. If these tests are good make sure the regulator has a good ground and solid connection to the B+ circuit. Given all the above is good replace the regulator. |
