Just come across a post on UKBEG,about an XB9 engine failure, crank ,b/ends ect.The South African owner was told " no warranty, because he had been riding at 4000rpm for over 10 minutes ,and Buell lubrication can't take that" Is this B/S, Do any of you guys ride above 4000rpm for prolonged periods.I have ridden my old sportster hard on UK motorways ,for a couple of hundred miles, when going home after bike meets,it always stayed in one piece. Whats the concensus on max cruising revs Cheers Lee |

That should have nothing to do with warranty. That person needs to contact H-D or Buell Customer service and get something done if it is still under factory warranty. If it's an extended warranty it may be a bit tougher to fight...but speaking to a manager of the claims department would be a start. It's not an H-D, it's a Buell, and 4000rpm is nothing especially for a nine. My S1 rarely saw below 4000 RPM and and has done long stints on the highway at around 5500 RPM. Mine was done in I believe by frequent stints at redline. |

Do any of you guys ride above 4000rpm for prolonged periods. Yes, I try not to let it drop below 4000 RPM. I've got 44,000 miles on the bike. |

On the Autobahn,I ride in the 4000-6000 range, sometimes more than 800km.Never had any probs. The dealers words are B/S. Ralph |
