Does anyone know what the compression test specs are for a stock 95'S2? I did a leak down test today... the rear cylinder held 180 psi and the front held 160 psi. With 10K on a cold engine I tested the rear cylinder first, and they only lost 2 psi after 20 minutes. Is this good? Does 180 seem a little high? Why is there so much difference between the two? |

I would say that the difference is border line. Might try putting some oil in the cylinder enough to seal the rings and see how the reading change. Also try listening at the exhaust or carburetor(open throttle) to hear any escaping air. The oil should help seal the rings and if pressure comes up then you have a ring/cylinder sealing problem. If you hear air escaping in the exhaust/intake your looking at some head work. |
