ok just got my buell ive been dreaming about for years. when i got it the seat had trouble re-attaching because the latch on the bike side didnt line up quite right. so i bent the mount just a smidge so it would. seat works great now...and the i installed the buell tankbag so i lifted the airbox a bit and installed the harness. then i start it up and take it round the block and the spedo tach and trip are all dead. only thing i can see workin is the brights indicator? anyone having trouble with this or any ideas? i havent done anythign to it yet or started digging because ive only had it a day and dont know much about it/dont wanna screw anything up. logan Was the speedometer working before you put the Tank bag on if so look for wiring harness problems in that area, otherwise it sound like a speedometer sensor failure. Pull it out and clean the metal filings off and see if that fixes it if not check for voltage, could need replacing. Good luck Joe |

but would the speedo sensor going out take out the tach and the trip too? and i never really took the airbox completely off just unscrewed it and lifted it maybe a half inch to slip in the harness (Message edited by logangm86 on July 09, 2008) |

OK i take it back again i dont feel like an idiot. it keeps blowing the fuses. i put a new fuse in and it works fine but as soon as i put the right blinker on it blows it. so im thinking ive got a wire bare somewhere and its shorting it out. so does anyone have like a wiring diagram so i can figure out which ones control the signals and i can pull apart the harness and look up and down the signal wires? |

I have accessories fuse-blow problem also. It seems to happen especially if my son is riding on the back, so I figure it has to do with pushing wires around, and maybe the saddlebag straps that are also under there next to wires, pushing around. I am trying different bag strap locations, just to start with the easiest possible fix. |

Not much back there except tail and blinkers and stop lights. Check for frayed wires touching ground. |
