Has anyone made this conversion and ran it down the 1320? I know it's got to pull like a train in 3rd and 4th! Tell me the deal I love tq!

I'd be surprised if an XB9 pulley helps the 1/4 mile of an XB12. First gear is low and the first up change is early even with the stock pulley. You may be slowed by an unnecessary change.

If you wanted to 1/4 mile on the back wheel the XB9 pulley may help.

I haven't done the conversion, so this is thought and not fact.

I thought pulleys were the same, the difference is primary gearing.

yeah you are correct, the belt and all the pulleys are exactly the same. You can swap in the XB9 primary chain, and it is right around 10-11% gear reduction. so at 65 on your speedo you'd actually be going 57-58 right around there...... i hope you like wheelies

We just ran an XB with stock chassis on the strip. All I can say: forget about the 9 primary. After some nice wheelies in 1st gear we decided to launch the bike in 2nd. Finally it made a 10.6 @ 133 mph..........

.....ok, the engine is somehow modified

If you swap to the 9 primary the speedo doesn't change. I did the 9 swap on my bike its awesome for wheels and slow speed, but not if you want to race. It makes first gear pretty much useless.

Speedo will not change.

The conversion changes the ratio between the engine and the transmission.

The speed sensor senses the amount of rotations of the belt drive sprocket which relates directly to the amount of rear wheel revolutions.
