Woo Hoo! As noted in this thread Recall INFO???, it looks like the Factory is doing something about the Firebolt headlight safety issue (rather quietly I must say though, not having received a letter from HD/BMC [yet?]). I'm wondering what it involves. If anybody can get a copy of this notice and post it in the BadWeB: Service/Technical Bulletins page, that would greatly benefit the Firebolt owners in the BadWeB community IMHO. Thanks, Sparky |

Are the headlights any different? Material or style of the reflector? |

I received my recall letter, and it stated that the reflector material in the low beam had a tendency to flake off. I went to the dealership last week of July to get my replacement, but they did not have it yet from the factory, so here it is the second week of August and still no replacement. Hopefully I will get it soon,as I ordered a replacement (before recall) in June(28) and have not received that either... |

The dealer will soon get at least one kit, then more will follow according to the VINs associated with that dealer. I would keep checking with them once a week or, if you want to be first on the list, have the service dept. write you a service order to install the parts based on your VIN and, when the parts come in, give you a call. When I found out my servicing dealer, not the one where I bought the bike from, had one kit on hand yesterday, I brought the bike in for the install today. Took about 20 minutes. Read your letter again. If you have paid for replacing the headlights previously, you may be eligible for reimbursement. How cool is that? |

I had mine installed this past Saturday. Much more light now. I can even see the light reflecting off the rear of cars during the day. The light pattern of the low beam is a bit different than the original pattern. Hope they last. |
