I just bought an '08 Firebolt and I want to buy a helmet, jacket, gloves, etc... I was wondering if anyone knows of any stores around central Iowa(or farther if need be)that have a wide selection of apparel. I am wanting to try on a wide variety of items and I don't know of any stores in my area that have a decent inventory to browse. I'm willing to travel farther (Omaha, Minni, KC)if need be. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Chris |

Hi Chris, The Buell dealers in Carroll or Waterloo both have a decent selection, with Carroll having more the last time I was there. Either way, it isn't far from Ames. |

Chris: DSR Power Sports in Omaha is excellent. They are primarily an internet business but they do have retail hours. Call first and they may actually order stuff in for you to try. I'm very difficult to fit and they have sold me race leathers, race boots, two street jackets and rain gear. Their hours are really odd so call them first to arrange your trip (402) 991-1383. Ask for Steve. Dave |

Thanks for the tips. I did try Carrol Cycle Center and they had very little Sport Bike Apparel. A few helmets and gloves, but that was it if you discount the huge amount of Harley Brand Apparel. I may try the quad cities or check out the Omaha place. Online they seem to have a huge selection and good pricing. Anyway, thanks again for the info. Chris |

DSR DSR DSR!!!! I have been buying moto threads for years and DSR is the best. If you are looking for a race one-piece, they will guarantee the fit with the actual suit. They carry a lot of gear considering the size of the shop. I have never heard them say, "we can't or we won't." Plus they are in the Old Market so it is worth a ride to just walk around downtown. DSR puts Customer Service back into the Customer Experience. Beware . . . Give them a Chance and you will be posting about their shop next! Justin |
