I have a 1998 M2 Cyclone with the Force air cleaner elbow and K&N filter. The fuel line runs behind the carb but is against the cyl head since it's such a tight fit. I have the protective heat sleeve over the line, but has anyone removed the stock air box set up and ran the line outside the frame tube? I'm thinking the stock set up didn't have this problem and had more clearance. Thanks. |

Boy I have the Force style, and can't imagine how this would change the incoming fuel line. That's all behind the carb. I have the heat sleeve on too, it didn't seem like it would be a problem. |

I'm running Mikuni HRS42's on my M2 Cyclone and 87 FXR. Because the Mikuni has a rotatable fuel inlet hose barb you can position it in any position that is convenient. So on the Buell I'm running the fuel line in front of the front jug. On the FXR I've run the fuel line behind the rear jug. This is so I can run see through fuel filters on both bikes which are in plain sight so you can see if the system is flowing fuel or is stopped up while the bike is running and you're on it. As for running the hose between the jugs that's all right too. A heat sleeve is okay but not necessary. The automotive type fuel line is resistant to heat and shouldn't melt unless it comes in contact with the exhaust header. |
