What's out there for regular guy to buy and lighten up his rotating assembly? I'd love to get my hands on some titanium connecting rods! Do they make such a beast?I'm guessing titanium valves, beehive springs, ti retainers are just run of the mill stuff. I'm unsure of my options. |

Donnie I believe the beehive springs are out there, TI retainers and valves are available. I know lighter flywheel assemblies can be had. Stronger rods are available but haven't seen them in TI. Of course light weight race piston are just a call away for piston makers. Lighter push rods are available. Check with places like nallin, S&S,and just start surfing. I believe the XB heads have beehive springs, small diameter valves (7mm). I'm going to go down this path one of these days. Even if the power gains are minimal the reduce wear and friction should yield some rewards. For example the 08 XB 12's higher red line. Joe |
