Going to bore out the xb12 throttle body abit, anyone know where one can come across the throttle plates in a bigger dia.? I was thinking just get one of some car in the Salvage yards and machine that down in size? Thoughts??? | ||

If you are going to go second hand you would do well to watch out for butterfly bind. As the motor gets hotter, and we all know the XBs do get hot, the butterfly if not correctly clearanced will bind on the side of the throttle body and not always in the closed position! | ||

Talk to the folks at Cycle Rama. They do custom high performance work like that all the time. | ||

Sorry for posting this in both spots.. But not sure which wd. get more attention: Thanks Bombardier, for your input... Just that there are vendors on the site here that do this mod.. and I have heard of another that did have it bored out, Now Not much say a couple of mm`s I think to 50 or 52.. Just I have access to a machine shop and don`t feel like paying upwards of 300.00 to get it done when I can down the road If I choose to do myself..But just need a plate, Maybe car related plates that are larger in size can just be cut down etc.. Still looking for info..If anyone has some knowledge of this themselves LMK... |
