I have a XB12S Lightning. I put on a Jardine exhaust. Do I need a race ecm and TPS. Everything seems fine now (I have a K&N) but am I missing more performance or is it minor and wouldn't notice that much difference? |

By adding a free flowing exhaust and a K&N you are leaning out an already lean fuel map. Do you need it? No probably not, your FI will probably try to compensate. You can get ECMspy for free and change your maps your self. |

I have a similar question. My bike is 2000 X1 with a V&H slip-on and stock air filter except I do get some popping on deceleration (more when engine is cold) and I had exhaust backfires on a couple of occasions accompanied by the engine light coming on momentarily and the bike almost stalled. All of these happened within a second or two and went away. So do I "need" to do something with the ECM or these events have nothing to do with the V&H? Thanks in advance. |
