I lost the front strap for my tank bag for my 98 S1W. I believe it is a quest tank bag. I have tried going to the dealer to order just the front mount but can't just buy it. Does anyone have some measurements or pictures of the front mount so I can make one? Thanks

Bigun: I recently had a similar problem. If you have either a large sporting goods store (like REI) or hardware store (like McGuckin's in Boulder, Co) you may be able to buy webbing and fixtures. I took the tank bag I was working on with me to make sure I got the correct attachments (many look the same, few actually worked) and was able to purchase 2 - 16 inch lengths of 1" (?) poly strap, 2 strap collectors and 2 male connectors. By wrapping running the straps around the frame tubes just before they attach to the headstock the assembly came together well enough to be indistinguishable from what I imagine the OEM mount must have been like. You have mail, with a PDF of the Quest Bag instruction sheet attached. Hope this helps, Don |

Crap!! Anyone got an extra rear mounting strap for one of these bags laying around?! After reading over the document I realized mine was missing. I have never put the bag on before. It came with the bike but I never installed it. Any idea on a substitute for this strap? Its the one that goes under the seat and mounts to the gas tank mounting bolt. |

Nevermind. Wal-Mart had everything I needed. Thanks anyway. |
