A local shop has a pair of these, I think they had the same pair last year too (or earlier last summer). Avon Azaro AV35 120/70 ZR17 and AV36 170/60 ZR17. Any guesses as to when Avon discontinued the AV35/36? Just trying to ballpark their age. Price is okay at $98/$126, maybe, but I think I can probably do the same or better with fresher tires. I'm coming due for front tires, rears are still okay for now. Thinking I might try to negotiate a better price on them if they aren't too aged, otherwise I'll just wait for spring and finish running out the fronts currently on the bikes. Any thoughts or input on these? These will be for either an M2 or an S2. Thanks for any insight. (In the back of my mind I'm thinking I might have seen these same tires in there two summers ago, maybe not, but maybe, don't know for sure.) |

Mikej I run Avon's but have not used the 35/36. I currently have the 39/40's on the S3. I find the 39/40 a little on the hard side as far as grip is concerned. Your right about checking the age of the tyres. Good luck. Joe |

Umm, I had Avon ST 45/46s on a Ducati about 4 years ago?! Look on the tire's sidewall for an oblong circle with 4 numbers in it like this; 3905 That indicates the tires were made in the 39th week of 2005. That's if you're concerned about their age I guess. What'd you come up with? |
