I have a modification to my S2 in mind, and I'm hoping someone might have tried it before.... I'd like to mount tubular bars on my S2 (as on the the X-1, S1, M2, etc.) I have the upside down front fork, so I got a set of X1 triple clamps. What seems to be a problem here is my White Power forks protrude about 1.5 inches above the top clamp (to mount the clip-ons). With the X-1 top clamp, it appears this will interfere with the bars. I can slide the forks flush with the top clamp, but feel this will adversely effect handling by raising the front too high... So, my question is if the later model Showa forks are actually shorter, and should I obtain a set of these to do my X1 triple clamp conversion? Also, I'm aware I'll have to either convert my controls to 7/8" or modify the triples to accept 1" bars. Oh, and here's a pic of my S2! Anyone want to guess the modifications? There's lots!
