For those that can shed some light. Why isn't the O2 sensor in the collector? Thanks Joe |

Possibly too close to tail pipe and effects of fresh air reversion causing inaccurate readings. My question is why not a sensor on each header runner pipe? |

Now your asking the questions I like to hear! If there is no reversion how about a heated sensor. It will be out of the limelight and wont stuff up that clean look at the front of the bike. The required ground and heater wires can be run to the ignition circuit in the existing heat covered loom with the sensor wire continuing to the sensor pick up. |

I can see that one in each head pipe would be the best. My guess is some bean counter has something to say about the extra parts, machining and ECM upgrades. Just a guess. Joe |

As long as neither cylinder develops an intake air leak, the single sensor on the rear works great. I don't think it was a bean counter decision, at least not from the start. Though I can sure see how it would be a major job to rework the ECM programming for two sensors versus one. |
