I am thinking installing the Wiseco pistons to get the compressiion ratio to 12:1 from 10:1. I already have : Micron exhaust race ECM Open airbox & KN rerouted breathers NGM Iridium spark plugs Does anyone know how many extra RWHP (if any)I will get from the the Wiseco pistons ? Are there dynoruns, at the same dynamometer, before an after wiseco pistons installed ? What other mods would anyone recommend ? Head work ? cams ? |

if you put stock 9 pistons it brings the cr 12to1.in a 12 only. u can easy get 100hp and 80ft lbs torque. with the set up you have. |

Thanks, But what will the gain be ? +5RWHP? Do I need to reprogram the ECM, or the open loop of the ECM will do the job, of setting the proper fuel ? |

will you will have to change the spark table, and fuel table.and run a higher octane gas or it is going to ping. u will pick up a little hp and torque. depends on how its tune and the fuel you use. |

Vagelis I think I read somewhere in my automotive magazines that you can expect about 4% increase for every full point of compression increase. Joe |

Vagelis : "...or the open loop will do the job" not "open loop" its the "learning mode" during " closed loop" operations to change AFV values . the " learning mode" can only make the whole fuel map leaner or richer ...for sure not the best way to tune xb motors . anyway it works only for light mods like muffler , air filter , airbox.... for me in this case better try with some by-pass module like TFI( fuel only) or RAPID BIKE(fuel and timing) or , best way, try DIRECT LINK software or ECMSPY software , with them you can change the map values into your ecm ( D.L. fuel and timing , ECMSPY fuel only ...right now ). there is a sponsor here (trojan ) who used wiseco 12:1 on their 1200 xb race bike in 2005 .. or 2006 ...ask them for some info. bye Alessio |

What exhaust are you using now ? I think the Micron looks very good, and I like the sound...... Also the price is reasonable for a full exhaust . But I would like to try the Buell race can, since it gives +3HP from 4800rpm to 6800rpm, and when I push hard this is the range I use..... |

hi i had a lot of home made exhaust but the best for me to use with stock headers and race ecm is the race kit can . now i'm using a race kit modified can.you can see it in my profile , but i think with my set ( 88") a micron or a full h.p. reverso(race type) its better. bye Alessio |
