Here's a product that's sure to come in handy for fixing bare wire insulation problems. MCN December '07 has a write-up on Brush-0n Electrical Tape. It's better than electrical tape for small wire repairs, they report, as it doesn't leave a large lump at the site and doesn't work loose. Dries in about 5 minutes. Try a Google search on liquid electrical tape for more info; Brush-0n Electrical Tape should show up. It's available at Ace Hardware, Menards, Checker, Shuck's and Kragen Auto Parts. |

Harbor Freight has it also. I use it a lot. It also comes in a spray can. I don't think I would trust it for two wires that would otherwise be in contact though... but it makes a nice "pre-coat", potting compound, and even works as a primitive strain relief for a wire on a connector. Don't dry it with a blow torch though. KaWOOOSH! |

West Marine sells it also. Great Product for keeping water out of your repairs on Boat wiring. |
