OK I saw the post previous to mine and the two bro's have much more experience than I do removing the primaries and clutch cable. I'm clueless and need your help since I haven't been able to find a used shop manual on this board. I guess first you remove the footpeg, drain the primary fluid, remove the gearshift lever, then loosen the primary fasteners. I have no idea how to remove the clutch cable. Any advice? Thanks in advance. Rydin. |

Don't need to mess with the footpegs on an M2. Remove the derby cover (4 screws). Take them out going in a circle with just a turn or two on each screw at a time. If you just completely remove two screws, the cover gets cocked, and binds the other two screws. Then you can get in there and remove the clutch cable from the clutch assembly. It stays bolted to the primary cover, just keep a bucket near by to stick it in and leave the cable attached at both ends. Then remove your shifter assembly (careful putting it back on, it's easy to break when you torque down the pinch bolts) and remove the many allen head bolts holding on the primary cover. Some are different lengths, so its wise to mark where each came out (though if you don't you can reason it out after the fact, it just takes some trial and error). Then you are looking inside the primary... There is an S1 PFD manual here on the board, and it will be pretty close to your Cyclone. Use that until you can go buy a factory manual... |

Man Reepster, You always come through! I owe you many beers and good cheers. I'll follow your direction and get into this situation. I was lovin'this bike so much before I popped the gearshift. If anyone has a scan of the repair manual's pages relative to this procedure (the one of the X1 on this board does not download into my laptop ... maybe a dialup issue), i'll compensate you a few bucks via money order. Peace and best regards to all. Happy Holidays!!! |

You meant the S1 manual? Make sure you have a working version of Adobe Acrobat... should work fine. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.ht ml |
