Any suggestions on an accurate tire air pressure gauge? I'm looking for accurate, easy to read and durable. I dropped my last one and the needle no longer rotates. |

http://www.amazon.com/Accutire-MS-4021B-Standard-D igital-Gauge/dp/B00080QHMM I bought one of these to use on my bike. I got mine at Sears for $14 but it is much cheaper here. It measures in 1/2 lbs. increments. Seems to work good so far. |

I grew up with the ones that had the square sliding shaft in the chrome tube or if you went to a gas station it usually was the classic Milton 506. A long time ago I decided that a round gauge would/should be more accurate. After that it was a round liquid filled gauge that would be superior. That is what I have used for years. Lately I searched the web and now have a Accutire gauge (MS-4400B). I have numerous air gauges I have accumulated over the years. With out having a TEST gauge and checking the same tires with all the gauges, this gauge is the one I am using. You would not believe the differences in pressures with my gauge selection. I have yet to try this when it gets really cold. I do believe that checking your tire pressure is more important than being off a few pounds in the long run because it will let you know if a tire does have a slow leak. In conclusion an accurate gauge does not have to be super expensive and your normal driving will not know the difference of a couple pounds of air pressure. This is my opinion. Thanks. |
