I'm about to replace the rocker box gaskets on an 07 Uly with the OEM gasket kit. Any advice on whether to use or not use an additional sealant on the lower gasket? The new one is steel and has some type of flexible coating. It is identical to the one that failed.

Should be no need for extra sealant.
Just make sure both surfaces are really clean.
Also, proper torquing is MANDITORY. Don't guess, use a torque wrench and the service manual for spec's and sequence.

I'd ad "dry", clean and dry.

If your gaskets are leaking, that'd be a warranty item that your dealer must cover, in case you didn't know.
