I have an all black leather suit, and would love to get some gray leather block letters cut out and stitched across the back. Is this possible? Are there businesses that do this? Also, considering patches, would I be significantly weakening the leather by stitching into it? Just tell me this is a bad idea and I'll forget it. Until then I'll keep dreaming. |

Barnacle Bills (racingleather.com) does that sort of work if you mail the leathers to them. I also know that Vanson was set up to do it at the track (I had them put Michael's name on his race leathers at Daytona). Done correctly it will not weaken the leather. What is different about the way Vansons or others stitch patches on that does not weaken the leather? |

A stitch length wide enough to hold the patch on not wide enough for it to appear loose yet not to close to cause weakness due to the needle holes. |
