Hello all, I am looking for some good made in the USA leathers, so that I may enjoy my new XB12R safely. While surfing I found a place called Fox Creek leather. Has anyone got any experience with them? Thanks (Message edited by poppinsexz on October 19, 2007) |

Vanson or Bates are widely used by racers, not sure of the Fox Creek stuff. I have also visited their website and while the stuff looks good, you can get a new or near new Vanson on ebay for the same. |

I have never seen fox river so I can't help you there. You may also take a look at barnacle bill's (http://www.racingleather.com/), NJK (http://www.njkleathers.com/) , and "Z" leathers (http://www.zcustom.com/) for AMerican made high quality leathers. Barnacle bills is the least expensive of these three, but they are all custom made leathers that will fit you perfectly with no compromises, unlike off the shelf leathers. They cost more than the imported brands, but they are worth every penny if you have the cash. |

I just looked at the fox creek web site, and while they may make nice gear it is very cruiser oriented. Their "race jacket" is not cut right for that purpose and I see no mention of a means to attach the jacket to a pair of pants. I'd look for a more sport oriented manufacturer because the needs of a sport rider are much different from the cruiser crowd where style super-cedes all other requirements. |

Thanks for all the input. I initially typo'd and called them Fox River when it's Fox Creek. I was looking at their Black Rock Jacket. They say it's cut for the sport rider, however I never thought about the pants attachment. I will look at the others that were mentioned. Money is not the main issue, just don't want to spend 600-700 if I can have the same quality for less. Thanks |

Just to update. I was able to get a new Vanson Technical 3 off Ebay for about 350. I am very happy with it and now I just have to break it in. Darn that means more riding. Thanks for the help. |
