I would have just bought Al's open airbox mod, but I will be using one of Odie's special ops pipe that still utilizes the interactive exhaust. I noticed after putting the nuts on the top of the airbox, that they interfered with the mounting of the interactive exhaust box, which was remedied by 5/16" spacers (not shown). Also, you have to make sure that the bolts are tight enough to firmly hold the airbox lid without having them extrude past the nuts on top. I decided to keep the rear portion just to ensure that the wires and cables weren't going all over the place, probably not necessary, but I like to take precautions. I mocked it up, and the extra height of the exhaust box didn't seem to touch the top airbox, but I wasn't able to simulate the exhaust valve opening and closing. I'll know for sure later. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Open airbox5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Open airbox4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Open airbox3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Open airbox2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/192837/Open airbox1.jpg |
