As I am getting more familiar with my bike, I want to make sure I have the suspension set up correctly. What is the definition of full out and full in? I have an 2000 S3T, any have any advice of what are some good settings for both touring and slightly aggressive riding? I would like to set up the suspension and not have to adjust between local rides and weekend trips. Also, how can I visually verify that I have the replacement shock on my bike? While the bike was in the dealership last summer, I had them check on recalls. They said all were done. While talking to Buell CS over the winter, the rep. told me that the shock recall was not completed on my bike, according to there records. He said it may have been done but not registered. Lastly, how can I verify that the proper isolators are installed? I assume this is something I can visually see with the bike on a stand and the rear wheel off the ground. Jeff, Only a highly specialized shop can rebuild the rear Showa shock on a Buell tuber frame. | ||

Steve, I don't think any Japanese bikes used the WP forks. | ||

Fire604, Back up a minute. Why do you believe that variable rate springs will benefit your suspension? Suggest you consider revalving of damping circuits instead. Have you tried adjusting your damping settings? | ||

Steve, Correct you are. My mistake. I am just so used to all my bikes having upside down forks that I completely forgot about the M2s running conventionals. Sorry. | ||

Steve: It' s not unlikely, that someone made forks or sliders that will fit the M2. I guess you'll have to start looking for similar fork tube diameter and go from there. Example: on the SV650 you can fit Honda F3 tubes and internals and get a cartridge fork (you retain the SV sliders, wheel, brakes etc.). Using an SV front brake rotor bolt to hold the internals make it a perfect fit. How anyone ever found out - I don't know  Henrik | ||

The "Photo Bike" actually got equipped, before complete development was done, with a part from (oooops) another bike that was never intended to end up on the M-2 Cyclone. The entire production run, only one eagle eyes owner caught the glitch, called me and demanded he receive what we advertised and what he paid for. I commended him for his attention to detail and sent the part more as good will than acquiescence...never know when you'll need an eye like that. | ||

If anyone is following along at home, I still haven't received my forks back from RaceTech. They haven't even finished them yet and (as far as I can tell) would not have bothered with them had I not called back yesterday and today and made a nuisance of myself. Originally shipped Mar 24, paid ($456) Apr 7. | ||

Josh, Tell them you were planning on using the bike in a National event (BattleTrax) and you need them completed ASAP. Ask if they can throw in a couple of stickers also. Can't hurt, and just might motivate them a little to push your order up in the cue some. | ||

I email Traxxion about availability of .85 springs (I asked RaceTech when I shipped them in March to install .85 springs. It wasn't until Apr 30 that they noticed they didn't have .85 springs in stock) Anyway, the OWNER of Traxxion emailed me back in <1hr saying they had them and could ship at a moments notice. Oh, and "customer service" at RaceTech is rude, arrogant, has no concept of "service" and doesn't returns calls. | ||

I've had great experience with Race Tech. Both in sales and in customer service. I bought a Gold Valve kit on ebay that didn't have the shim kit I needed. Race kit figured out what I needed and called me back and I had the new shim kit in less than a week. Of course that was during the off season. They are probably swamped this time of year. No excuse for such poor service though. Have they actually charged your credit card? If they haven't done the work, I'd be inclined to tell them to send your forks to Traxxion and cancel your order. That will light a fire under their butt to be sure. | ||

They charged me on Apr7. I'd say (like many people) you had great experience with their parts dept. I keep reading horror stories of forks not being reassembled correctly, parts being left out etc etc. Guess I didn't do my research on this one. On a better note my header came back from HJC and looks great. HJC also had great communication (my JetHot experience wasn't as bad as RaceTech but I won't be doing business with them again). | ||

Max at Traxxion is a good guy. He was swamped at Daytona... sorting out the many racer's problems... but he managed to tune my forks (valves, springs, etc.)in between the race work. Knows his stuff and works hard. He also said if at any time the spring rate doesn't seem right, he'd replace them at no charge! Now this was a couple of years ago... don't know if the offer still goes. Anyway... I had a good experience with them, and thought I'd send out a plug. Steve | ||

Josh; I'm sorry about your trouble with Race Tech. I was a bit put off by my first phone contact with them - years ago. I've been doing all my suspension mods through Traxxion Dynamics. Absolutely outstanding - above and beyond - service and care for their customers. Well, I guess I can only speak for myself and some friends that have dealt with them But at some point I had a couple of "situations" that Max resolved beyond what I could unreasonably have hoped for.
