I'm new and have a question? Can water travel from the primary vent tube under the seat back into the primary case? I was adjusting the primary chain today and noticed moisture on the inside of the inspection cover. I decided to change the fluid and got almost a quart and a half of oily water out of the case. Upon removing the primary cover it was also covered with water droplets on the inside. It was just changed 600 miles ago and only a quart was put in. I filled a half gallon jug with the old oil and after a short time the oil and water did separate. Any idea of the cause (riding in the rain?) and a recommendation for a fix? Maybe a filter on the vent tube? Or a PCV on the vent line for one way flow? Or both? | ||

If you wash your bike and/or ride in wet weather and the rubber boot that covers the clutch cable adjuster is not properly fitted, it can act like a funnel and channel water down into the primary. Be sure that boot is fitted snugly around the ferrule which is larger diameter than the cable sheath itself. | ||

The cable adjuster is snug. I was wondering if riding in the rain and trowing water up from the rear tire could drain back into the primary through the vent hose under the seat? Or do I have other issues I'm not aware of? | ||
