My bike has a stock shock with the bracket beefup recall installed. Would a shock from a 99 M2 with the reservoir on it be an upgrade. Would it fit and any pos. or neg. aspects this would cause. Any help appreciated. |

'99 M2's did not come with a reservoir. Some may have had reservoir shocks provided as part of a recall. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Regardless of where it originated, if the shock length is the same as that of your current shock it will work and would be an improvement in rear shock performance. |

>>>>'99 M2's did not come with a reservoir. That's a correct statement and the basis of one of the funniest Buell stories I've ever been involved with. Customer: Is this Buell? Factory: Yes Customer: I didn't get some of my rear suspension with my new motorcycle. Factory: Huh? Customer: They forgot to install the remote reservoir. Factory: Ah. . . that explains it. The M-2 Cyclone has no remote reservoir. Customer: Sure it does, just look at the catalog. Factory: I think you are confusing it with the S-1 Lightning. Customer: No I'm not. Please take a look. Pause...... Factory: YIKES! MORAL: There is some risk in providing early photo bikes before final production details and representative bikes are built. FACT: It's a fact of life, ya gotta take the pictures and start the service manual well ahead of release to satisfy customers. IT HAPPENS: There have been a raft of others including the sidestand on the 1996 S-1 on the cover of Cycle World. LESSON LEARNED: If it weren't for Badweb, you'd never know the facts. Have a fun day. |

The original shock on my '99 M2 had no reservoir. The one that replaced it in the recall had a reservoir. So does the Works Shock I got from American Sport Bike. |
