Can't find the original thread for my motor failure. Blew a hole in the rear piston on I64. Got the motor back from Reno Custom Cycle with the 88" kit, up size valves, port work and 630/585 cams.

What kind of power do you expect to get from that beast?

Rich
I'm looking for around 110 hp. But more important to me is over 100 lb/ft from 3500 up.

Almost had it together last weekend. I hadn't noticed that the primary cover alignment bushings were missing. Guess I should have figured assuming the case machining. Them should be here thursday. Some pictures of the primary and some modification during the process. I mount the shock reservoir where the bank sensor used to be. Moved the crankcase ventilation catch can back behind the license. This is where I located the enricher knob for the HSR45 and it works pretty good. I also moved the voltage regulator from under the oil filter to where the ECM used to be. Not sure about this, might have cooling problems.

Put 70 miles on the S3 yesterday. Man is this bike fun. Smoother than the stock motor, can lug it down to 2800 in sixth without any problem. Throttle response is immediate and will hoist the wheel in first with just a twist. It appears from my limited time with the motor, fuel consumption is in the mid 40's.

Put 70 miles on the S3 yesterday. Man is this bike fun. Smoother than the stock motor and instant throttle response. More tolerant to low rpm cruising down to 2800 in sixth with no problem. Hoisting the wheel in first is just an aggressive twist. Mileage appears to be in the 40's in a mild riding environment.
