I'm looking for a mid-size back-pack. Versatile, well-made, light-weight, durable and less than $75. Anybody have a suggestion? I looked at the stuff at Aerostitch but I want reviews not descriptions. Thanks.

I like the free Buell backpack (the ones they gave out for the test rides). Can't beat the price - and it is very functional. I regularly travel with my laptop (and other gear). I prefer those kinds of things (electronics) not go into saddle bags or a tank bag.

I went to Sears years ago and got a light duty, mid-sized backpack for less than $30. No backpack is suitable for long distances, but for around town, it's perfect. Holds a lot more than the Buell slingbags and is much more durable. It even matches my Vanson jacket.

If I were you I'd check out a local shop that sells dirtbike accessories.

Ogio-is a great brand anything from them is worth the $.
Other good brands for backpacks-Thor, One ind., Fox, and alpinestar.
Also maybe check out a local skateboard or snowboard shop. They too should have some good quality bags.

Thanks, Hepburnhoney. The one I found was PERFECT. The North Face - Hammerhead. Was less than $90 and has EVERYTHING I would want for day rides. Hydration bladder and room for small tool kit, first aid kit, camera, cellular, wallet, snacks and layers of clothing.

I carry an OGIO Merto backpack daily. It has a ton of storage, a nice laptop pocket and multiple pockets for anything and everything.

For anyone else still looking...I was at Sam's Club buying dog food and found a great Swiss Army backpack. I was tired of riding with my laptop bag hanging off me. This backpack holds a laptop, has tons of storage space, lots of compartments, wide, heavily padded shoulder straps with a vent channel down the back, an external port to plug earbuds into for an ipod or walkman. I can even drop my travel mug of coffee down one of the side pockets and it stays upright and snug. Bag was the best $40 I've spent in a long time!

I have an L.L. Bean backpack that's seen more or less constant use for about 21 years. They're only about $40-$50 and they have different sizes, color options, and different types of models.
