These are heads off an 80 inch Evo in the shop. It's a trade-in with a base gasket leak. We found the heads to be pretty interesting.

Intake

The pictures really don't do it justice (I know the quality isn't very good either, but ya can't expect an older music phone to do it all). The ports were truly cavernous. Both the intake, exhaust, and combustion chamber were finely polished. The back of the intake ports have a squeaky clean spot that the fuel is apparently sloshing into. The intake manifold is stock and mismatches the port work badly.

The combustion chamber is reshaped into a very nice looking bathtub with big valves.

Chamber

They are a big departure from most of the current heads a lot of the better shops are offering with downsized, nicely streamlined ports.

The exhaust gasket has been crushed into the port substantially, which hides it a little. Those ports have absolutely no shape to 'em at all...they've been enlarged to one big uniform walled pipe.

Exhaust

The tech is going to dyno the bike out of curiosity. It has a bolt-in cam of some sort. One of the guy's was impressed with the work, and I just like the chamber re-work. I'm bettin' it'll show a racer's curve for sure!

If I had my guess, I think the dyno numbers are going to be lest then desired.

That looks like a T-Storm head, isn't it? But you say 80 c.i. Is that a big bore kit on a Buell? Or do Big Twin heads us that chamber shape too?

I'd think that freshening up the 15 degree angle for a better squish would have been the better expenditure of shop time than hogging out thse ports.

Polished intake ports? Even rookies know better than to polish the intakes.

It's off a Harley Softail. Due to the tech being busy at the time they never did run it on the dyno.
