I have a 2004 XB12R with 7200 miles which appears to have oil leaking from the rear cylinder base gasket. It doesnt appear real time but shows up 10-15 minutes (or the next day) after riding. It then runs down the primary cover so I initially thought it was the primary gasket, no such luck! I also see a piece of base gasket about .10" long poking out of the back side where the oil leak appears to be initiating from. I tried to locate the leak with a tube listening at the base with the engine running but didnt hear anything. There are no visual signs of blow by as one would expect. Any thoughts? |

Answered my own question, I pumped air into the timing mark hole and observed bubbles at the base gasket |

Bummer news! Sucks to have to do a partial tear down just to fix a stupid leaky gasket. Hope it wont take too long, Mike |
