I set the chain too tight at last service (600 miles ago). I loosened it back to within spec. My question is: have I caused any damage to anything by having it too tight for 600 miles? Asbjorn |

Keep an eye on the related roller bearings (engine and tranny sprocket shafts). Those would be the most likely victims of a too tight chain. Hopefully all will be okay. |

Thanks Blake.. What might be a sign that the roller bearings are giving up the ghost? Asbjorn |

Strange growling noises and/or new vibrations that vary with engine speed. Lots of metal bits in your primary/tranny fluid. |
