I hope someone can help me out!! My 06 Blast won't spark when I check the harness going into the coil I am getting 12V across two pins but that is it. I believe it is 1 and 3. But I get no spark out of the plug! My problem started when the bike tipped over when not started. I thought I fouled the plug and changed it but did not work. I get the engine to turn over but no spark. Could it be the bank angle sensor? If so how can I check? Please help my Uly stator is down and I want to ride my blast but can't because it won't start either!! Thanks, Brian |

12 VDC into the coil is a good thing. What makes the coil produce a spark, however, is this 12 volts grounding through the cam position sensor (what would be points in cars before there were electronic ignitions) when ignition timing wants a spark. So, there is probably a break (open circuit) in a wire from the cam position sensor to the coil. This path includes the ignition switch, the RUN/OFF switch on the handlebar, probably a Bank Angle Sensor, sidestand switch, clutch switch, neutral switch and the wire harness that connects all this stuff. |
