Author Message   Buell82 Posted on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 - 08:02 pm:        Does anyone know of any good tips or tricks to test and see if my valves need work, or if I have a blown head gasket? I have a 97 S3 and I have recently just lost all my compression in my rear cylinder. In doing my compression test I also later added oil to the cylinder and saw no change in psi, which leads me to beleive its a head problem. My bike only has 15k on it...I dont beleive it to be a piston ring problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Here is one more question I have that hopefully someone can help make reason of...The smoke that is coming from my engine is only from the crank case breather system (the little hole tapped into the top of the rocker box) But not a bit of smoke comes from my exhaust...Now all my mechanical knowledge tells me that if my ring is shot then I should have smoke coming from the exhaust as well? Any input on this?
