ok...here it goes...i made an attempt to change the clutch disc on my 05 xb12r. i had a dealer in fl. tell me that i could leave out the narrow friction disc and replace it with a regular friction disc. he said that the clutch would be a little more grabby but it would be fine. well i put it back together and after it heated up good, it broke the ears on the clutch hub. so i got a "professional" to come look at it. he thought that i needed to go back with the narrow disc set up (harley dont teach them that stock sucks). so after we looked all over the south we finally found one in n.c....now by some weird occurrence the damper spring or spring seat is missing(i never took the out, thats why the blew apart the first time). so with all that, my question is can i put this back together without the damper spring and seat with the regular friction disc instead of the narrow disc? |

I have the same bike as you and I dont have the narrow or seat plate. Just a set of barrnet plates. I think its 7 friction and 6 steel. My clutch is grabby, but tollerable |
