I`m trying to find lite weight T for taping into bottom oil tank line so I can screw 1/8" npt sending unit there, heavy brass fittings are going to shake around and wear shit out,I`m convinced. It`s for oil temp gauge.Any ideas?Doesn`t anybody make anything specific to this that doesnt weight a ton and clunk around or require obscenely expensive annodized fittings meant for race cars? |

I would use the brass fittings. They're not that heavy, besides Harley-Davidson has an oil gauge kit for the Big Twins with, you guessed it -- brass fittings. Also, the oil tank is frame mounted and doesn't shake like if it were on the engine itself. You should be OK if you use good quality stuff. |

I went and did the unthinkable-mounted it to return line-the higher one--wasn`t enough room to swing a dead cat down there.Temp. reading is way lower but I can still 'calibrate' it ,right?- check the 'real' temperature when its` good and hot,or note the peak temp. after a long ride. |
