Hey, Just bought my first Buell, and was riding the other day and I noticed a white foam coming out of the discharge side of the breather tubes, Anyone have any idea what this is? |

Yes,it is an oil/water vapor mixture that comes out of the breathers. It is also referred to as "puke" as in " my breathers are puking". In a stock set-up this get routed back into the intake before it condenses. Most people have rerouted the lines into a "catch-can". Catch-cans can be anything from a plastic bottle to a billet aluminum piece of art. You should be able to use the search function to find many examples. Some have went with the XB rocker box covers, which have a traditional PCV valves located on the top of the cover. |

While installing a catch can, I noticed that the breather hoses smelled gasoline. Is this normal? My bike (12R -05) runs currently like shit (missfires a lot). |

I usually smell some gas in there, but it smells more like half burnt gas then pure gas. Regardless, the bike should not be misfiring. |
