Yet another example of the width, breadth and depth of my ignorance . . . . got some cometech gaskets for the 1250 kit on my Y2K MaDeuce -- the head gaskets are a little odd -- there's three of em held together with little brass grommets I'm assuming (uh oh!), that they are to be used singly, doubly, or all together, to control the compression ratio of the completed mill my question is, should, if I wind up using more than one, leave the lil grommet in place, and just cut the one I wish to NOT use off? this making any sense? out to the E-Lab this weekend to check for valve/piston interference . . . figured I'd use Bazooka Joe Bubblegum to check thanks, all! |

Leave them together! Sometimes you have to cut the grommets off (typically for big bore) but you never seperate them. As a matter of fact, you need to keep them stacked exactly as they are, as well. |

The bubble gum won't work...too rubbery. You need to use modeling clay. It removes easily and does not try to return to it's original shape after being squished... by the way, I know you were joking... |
