Help! I have an 03 xb9r that only has 10k miles on it and has just started a really bad knocking sound in the engine. Does anyone know if this is a rod knock or could it possibly be anything else? |

Does it have kind if a "ring" with the knock? And does it go away if you lightly load the clutch (not even moving the bike, just dragging the clutch a little). If so, could be a loose nut on the stator. |

it could be alot of different things does the knock rise and fall with the rpms if so: the knock could be in the primary chain adjuster check the clutch and stater bye pulling in and letting out the clutch check the rocker assemblies then the lifters or tappets if you will if the knock is very loud it could be a wrist pin, or a bearing on either end of the connecting rods on a sportster engine it could be cam or idler bushings as well. |

Thanks, I will check that. I've always wanted the big bore kit, just not like this. My local H-D "gift shop" quoted me around $2500 to rebuild lower end. |
