I have 6400 miles on my 2006 City-X. The syncs have a lot of tread left on the sides. Obviously I have wear in the middle but are the wear bars running in between a few of the blocks of tread in the direction that the tire spins? And if that is the wear bar I have some meat left before it is flush to the bar. Is it time to change or could I get by with a 1000 mile trip to WV and back to Southern NJ? Let me know what you think about wear bars, tire life, and all other good stuff. |

Those are probably the bars from your description, so you've got some mileage left. You can probably get to WV and back with what you have. However, WV has beautiful mountain roads. They will be a blast to ride IF you don't have to worry about your tires slipping around. It would be a shame to get down there and discover your tires are all but shot. BTW, the dealership in LaVale, MD (the skinny part of MD where WV almost cuts it in half) treated me very well when I lost a wheel bearing on the road. If you do ride down on your current tires, you might call them before you go to see if they have a set of syncs in stock. That way if you get down there and they have worn more than you anticipated, you can stop by for replacements. |

I have to say my last set of Pilot Powers were looking good but even so I ordered some replacements. In the week before the swap, I rode about 300 mi and by Friday the rear was completely shot, right through to the canvas. I was surprised at how quickly it had deteriorated. |
