I have noticed, after experimenting with the intake, that the XB is very sensitive (compared to previous bikes I have owned) when changing the intake. The more air you force to the airbox, the better. And the difference in performance is VERY noticable. I already have removed the snorkel and installed KN and Open airbox. My next step was to remove the plastic piece around the petrol tap. But this will not do the trick (I think)of forcing more air inside the airbox. Because there is under-pressure after of the wind-shield of the XB12R, so basically you force less air in the engine. It is like running the engine at high altitudes and the AFV is low. So my question is simple, really. Will the race ECM 'read' a v-force induction kit, after someone runs the bike at 'learning mode'? I assume that the AFV value will rise (e.g. from 95-100 to 110-115)and so will the power. Has anyone have experience with the v-force induction kit? I really do not understand why BUELL changed the intake from inside the frame, to the position around the petrol tap. In my opinion this forces less air inside the engine. |
