I've looked through a number of threads and they didn't seem to answer this question... Can you remove the rocker boxes w/o rotating the engine? I could go pull the seat and airbox but it's dark out anyway. I inspected the drive gear about 4K miles ago (33K miles) and it looked severely worn. I don't wanna rebuild the engine yet . Also... Can you get the cam cover off without removing the header if you use a cut down allen wrench? I've had trouble with header studs and I don't wanna mess with the header again (they seem to be not breaking at the moment ). I've rotated the engine a few times so I'm not afraid to do it, I just figure if I don't need to, I don't need to . Thanks in advance. |

Don, You only need to remove ONE rocker box. Then rotate the crank so that the other cylinder is a TDC on the compression stroke. Al |

Rotation of engine, rocker bx remove and then you'll see this under the right cover http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/214053.html?1153162980 |

Understood Al . I was just wondering if it was possible to get a rocker box off w/o rotating the engine. If not... No biggie. I just didn't want to waste the time trying if it wasn't possible anyway. |
