So would I see a Improvement by installing a newer ECM from say a 06 12S?   Al_lighton Posted on Monday, March 05, 2007 - 10:10 am:        Doubtful that you'd see improvements in those areas. The 06 map is the same as the 04 map, but I think there are some corner case algorithm improvements. I don't know that those improvements will affect throttle response or cold start, however. The 07 definitely has a subtley different map in it, and carries a different config ID than an 06. The 06 carries a different config ID than an 04/05, but 04 and 05's are identical. The map values are the same in 04, 05 and 06. But if you put an 07 ECM in an 04 bike, or vice versa, both would run OK, but not perfect. Al
