I just modified my exhaust and instal the k/n filter i check my a/f ratio any gear any speed excep in 5 over 100mph it go to 14-1 13.8-1 the rest of the time 14.7-1 in acceleration around 12.5 13.0-1 but at idle 19-1 very lean so any torque until 1600rpm may be 1900rpm what i shoud buy the direct link or just a race ecm xb12 2004 thanks |

Your A/F ratio doesn't look real bad. Does it knock or ping? If not, I wouldn't get over excited. Everything tends to run rather lean at idle too, because it's a no load, low speed situation. Some folks set up EFI systems to run 16-18:1 at highway cruising speed when the motor sees little load. I would suggest the direct link over the race ECM as it's cheaper and provides the ability to make a variety of adjustments. The race ECM is designed for Buells "factory" mods, which include their exhaust and air filter, which I believe is a K&N. |

hi , i modified pipe.. to modify or built pipe its not really easy , i tried a lot of time and i have 3 pipes that i built myself ,2 front exit hp style but there is no way that they works. the only one that perform very well its a modified ( by me ) race muffler . it happened to me the same .... running lean with the race ecm . if you are using tfi on the original ecm and you are running lean with the race one you maybe gain some points but i don't think its enough . "direct link" its the best if you "know" and very dangerous if you don't "know" , " rapid bike" its another possibility a la power commander ( i use one) and if you needs maps just ask . remember EVERYTHINGS ARE USELESS UNTIL YOU PUT ON THE BIKE THE RIGHT MUFFLER . i was going crazy with home made mufflers until i discovered the right diameter of the tubes and other stuffs that's very complicated to explain for me in english. good luck bye Alessio |

I believe what he's sayings is that unless you are an engineer or thoroughly thought out and designed your exhaust, you should probably just buy an aftermarket setup. As far as the ECM, I believe he's saying, only go with Direct Link if you know or are willing to research how to properly tune a bike and understand the software. Otherwise, go with a plug and play type setup such as "Rapid Bike" or a Power Commander. If I recall correctly, Power Commander provides a variety of tuning maps on their website to allow different setups. |

thank for the advice the only pipe modification that i made .its normaly 3 turn or baffle whit the buterfly close and alomost direct whit the buterfly open.now 2 turn and direct . i am shure the bike pull more a i have a test bike (a friend whit a stock one).i will buy the direct link .but what do you thinks of the wide band o2 they suggest.its for the tuning time only or its stay on the bike. because i already have innovate LM1 thanks |

If you have an LM1 you're already set, that is as long as your wide band is still working properly and in good shape. You could probably just use the LM1 for your A/F data and adjust with Direct Link to get everything set. Check the part number on your LM1 o2 sensor and compare it to the DL one. I speculate they're the same. |
