OK, what's the story with these clip-ons? They do not look like any I've ever seen on an S2 or S2T... |

Jim I noticed those a while ago and wondered where they came from. Any chance an ELF or three might know the story on those and if/where I could locate a set to purchase? |

RW-750 Buell Formula 1 Race Bike. Square four two-stroke. Very rare, best offer. Voice mail (410) 259-3795. (MD) I think Buell purchased that bike and it is in the lobby, the one we rebuilt for Erik is in his office. Don't think there are any others. |

Ordered the toys I needed from Tom. New headlight cover, screws and wellnuts plus a new chain rub block. Tom also educated me on chains (The RS takes a "530 pitch" 106 link chain. It came with a Diamond ($80 from Buell) but the new o-rings like Tsubaki are much better) and let me know the RS shipped with a stock Sportster ign mod. coool. |

Hmm, is that a 4" supertrapp on the RS? I'd like to buy an extra endcap so I can punch a hole for an A/F reading on the dyno. There's an official Buell kit on eBay with diffuser discs currently at $10, but Summit Racing sells just a 4" end cap for $9.95. That's what I need, right? |

You are correct, I think that is the one listed for sale above. The one in Erik's office is a recreation of the bike Erik raced. I don't think any others exist. |

Ok i now would like to get a couple of questions answered if i could, please First off, acording to a letter in my hand Dave owes me one updated manual with pictures(this prerelease stuff with no pics will not do), and the letter has Daves name at the bottom, hence the question who is Tom, and how do i contact him for parts??If i needed any Upstate new york is very pretty this time of year and Josh: 1. 1990 Buell RS. This is a collectors item - Serial Number 6. Beautiful blue, corbin seat, super trap, 4500 Miles. Sitting in garage for last 5 years. Needs both front calibers (the original factory ones are defective, no crashes). A steal at $4000 Its not a 90, its an 89 Roger |

The is NO Manual WITH pictures. There was going to be one, but other things got in the way at the time. Tom is Tom Anglim. E-mail me and I'll get you all the contact info. You will be dealing with EFB Designs, the company that handles all the Classic Buell support. Welcome to the club. I'm in the process of pulling "build sheets" on 4 Classic Buells at this time. If you want to e-mail me your V.I.N I'll try to get yours. Court |

OK guys, due to 60 mph winds, and some failed com ed lines, i had to stay home and make sure everything was ok once the power came on, this has given me some time to try and get my new toy running(it has sat since 95, with gas in the tank) so i have a few questions if you would please indulge me: 1 does the rs series bikes have a fuel filter, if so where would it be(in the tank?) 2 how do i get those chevy looking embles on the primary off, is there a special tool??? and if it is a special tool can i fill the primary/trans threw the vent tube??? 3 how does this anti dive thing work, looks beyond my abilities, but i would still like an idea or so 4 what brake fluid do these bike use??it doesnt say it any where on the brake system??? 5 i forgot how the wires go on the fuel rocker switch, and the pic i took of it misses 2 of the three wires, so its red-?-? starting from the outside of the bike I think thats all for now, carb has been cleaned, tank drained, i going to pick up a battery and fluids, cylinders have a little oil inside for start up, plugs where changed, if i missed something, dont be afraid to chime in, and let me know what i am doing wrong or right for that matter, hope to have it up and running by this evening, so i can drive it too the car wash, it needs to be cleaned really, really bad, but seems mostly intact wish me luck ROger |

well as of 300 pm central time, rs #6 runs, estimate its the first time it has run in 9 years, and it runs fair(still needs the carb cleaned better) but it still has no trans fluid, the 3/4 rachet trick seems to chip the inspection plate, so i may be looking for a new one, there has to be some other trick out there, come on guys, i really want to go out and ride it around the block, lets hear the info coming i will try to keep you up dated Roger |

Dan come on i know how to do it, but the older inspection covers have a different set up, i had to bang it a couple of times to get it to move, put i got it off, just has sat to long, now how about some answers picks will come asap, but i wanted to get it running more than i wanted to take photos, give me a little time Now a new question, it seems to back fire pretty regular, i cleaned the carb, but did a poor job of it, just looking for some ideas as to the cause, it also seems to happen most frequently around 1000 rpm, ideas??? other than that, i need to take it to the car wash, it has 10 yrs of barn crap on it, paint is now clean, but wheels are just really dirty, have to do that tuesday if i can keep it running later Roger |

Ordered a new headlight cover as I noticed the old one was starting to crack at one bolt. New one doesn't come pre-drilled tho Tom hand-wrote some advice He left a note about pre-load measured in mm. Anyone want to guess where I'd take the measurement from? Manual says the rear axle nut to the seat. Roger, took me quite a while with a dremel, felt wheel and Mothers to do one side of one of the PMs. Looks nice now but damn that's a lot of work! Someone remind me to keep up on the S3s PMs. Josh |

Josh, i had to use brake cleaner just to get the top layer of junk off, and it still needs to be cleaned better before i can even think about polishing it, i am going to have to pick up another front/rear stand so i can get the wheels off, and do the job right Oh well, gives me something to do, when it starts raining again will try and get photos up tonight Roger |

Yea Dave, fort ann to be exact, about 5 miles from any thing in the middle of no where, i got lost on the way, but if i had time the roads were great for bikes, the guy lived on a 500 acre farm, had a special building for his bikes(tons) and cars(some neat stuff), he also had a drive way that was never out of rifle range(it was about a mile long), very nice guy, as was his wife, there were happy i was going to the 20th for buell, and were glad to see someone was so interested in it, we both made out ok, and i ended up staying for a couple of hours before i hit the road home Come guys i still need some answers to my questions, if you could please i really want to go out and ride the SOG Another question i thought of, do current buells(1998) have the same carb seal as in 89?? thanks Roger |

Roger, try Sportster.org for all but the anti-dive setup. |

The anti-dive is the A.C.T. system. Works on the same air accumulator priciple as the HD dressers. The "ball" in the front fairing is the reservoir. HD has used everything from the handlebars to the crash guards as resevoirs. Simple system, under braking (listen closley) you'll hear the selonoid when you touch the front brake, the volume avaiable for air is reduced.

Simple system, under braking (listen closley) you'll hear the selonoid when you touch the front brake, the volume avaiable for air is reduced. So here is my question, how do you refill or for that matter empty the forks, do you have to empty out the air, then refill, or does the entire system have to be removed(top side) to refill the forks, i was concerned that with the air in the system it would force all the oil out the bottom drain hole??? Another couple of questions Court did you get my email?? And if the tank is in good shape(no delamination at the bottom) should i think about creaming it before i have a problem???Would this be a good idea or bad, does cream create any new problems with the fiberglass tank??? Thanks Roger |

I have a 1998 S1 White Lightning VIN # 4MZYS11J1W3225038 purchased on 8/4/97. Looks like its #38, any significance to this low number other than the obvious?? |

The significance is that you have a great bike that should be enjoyed on a regular basis!! It's not collectible and never will be so get out there and ride it!! |
