Here's a good one for ya. My '97 M2 was backfiring and missing something terrible. It seemed to get better the warmer it got, but as soon as it was shut off, then started up again, it would go through the whole routine again. I had to drive around for a long distance with the "choke" pulled out.
I finally got mad enough to start looking closely at things, and pulled the sparkplugs out to see if they were fouled. Lo and behold, the little plug wire adapter on the tips of both sparkplugs were really loose! I tightened them up with a pair of pliers, put the plugs back in, and voila, no more misfire and backfiring. Oh well, I should know better, Buells have these really shakey V-twins in them, and stuff gets loose, and now I know why Harley riders spend so much time looking at there bikes when they're riding down the street to see what fell off....

I've had that happen too. Vice grips work wonders on those darn screw cap tips.

A note to all. Buell no longer lists replacement plug wires in parts catalogs. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement in the after-market?

The first place I would look would be our BadWeb sponsor's American Sport Bike online catalog. Or call Al there; he might have stock replacement wires.
