Does anyone know if the Coats 220 tire changer has any compatibility issues with XB rims? I have a line on one at a good price. | ||

I dont have a Coats 220 however there would be no reason that this should not be compatible with out wheels. It is a motorcycle tire changer after all. What are your reservations about buying it? The Coats is a great machine, but a bit pricey for my budget. So, I bought the Harbor Freight tire changer w/MC adapter, for well under $100 delivered and it works fine, with a few mods. I mounted it to my garage floor. I did buy the Coats prybar ($80), with replaceable plastic covers for the ends...no scratching the rims! There are some other companies that sell these too. I also have the Marc Parnes balancer. I save lots of money, and so do my buds. jimidee | ||

How do you balance your wheels? I have the Harbor Freight setup too. I also bought the free standing balancer. In particular, how do you balance the rear wheels - front works as the free standing balancer top accepts the non rotor side OK. | ||

The problem with the coats is it wont fit the rear wheel with the pulley on. My pulley touches the clamps. I got my cheap. Check out no-mar. I think his system will work better and cheaper. I got his bar and extra hands things. good products. MUCH CHEAPER!!!!! Wish i got it instead. |
