Sometime down the road (hopefully later than sooner) I'll be needing a crank on the 'ol S1 as she is on the loose side already. What's the difference between the press fit tube frame crank and XB12 cranks? I know the XB cranks are a bit lighter, but the tube frame cranks are much more expensive. Why? Are the timing marks and keyway slots different? |

I know that with some mods an X1 crank can be fit to an XB9. That is exactly what Terry G at Hal's did to my engine before the XB12 existed. If you are really interested you should talk to him about it. |

The major difference is the sprocket shaft design as the tubers use the Timken style bearing while the XBs use a single row roller bearing (so the sprocket shaft diameter and design is different). You can not install a XB crank into a tuber case without major modifications (machine work required). Regards Alex M-TeK Engineering |
