Hello Buell'ers! I'm going to do the well known clutch improvement this winter. I'm talking about removing the spring plate, and replace it with two steel plates and one friction plate. I got the extra steel plates, but it seems impossible to get only one friction plate here in Norway. The dealers have only complete sets with 8 plates. Does anyone in here know where I can find it? I have tried eBay for a long period too, but without results... Frank |

Any Harley dealer should sell individual plates to order. If they no longer do, because they use to, look to the aftermarket. I don't think it would be a problem running 1 friction plate that is not the same as the others - excepting a kevlar type. Maybe Matt (Trojan) can help you? He's a BadWeB sponsor so click on his banner. He's based near Newcastle, UK, so won't have far to go to get one on the ferry for you, lol. So how's life in the winter dark? I've only been to Norway once, years ago. Honningsvag right up on the North Cape, not far from you. That was in the UK distant water fishing days. I can see the sun coming up now, at 2am. It wasn't winter of course!Wonderful memory. Let me know if you can't get that plate and I'll see what I can do here. Rocket |

Thanks Rocket! Two weeks have gone, but I still haven't got a friction plate. I looked at Matt's webshop, but I couldn't find it there. I tried also to send Matt an e-mail, but no answer came. You asked about life here in winter dark. No problem, I've always lived here so I don't know about anything else:-) I live in Trondheim, 1624km (1000 miles) south of Honningsvag. We don't have the winter darkness and the summer midnight sun down here. But it came a lot of snow the last two weeks. Well, contact me if you can help about the friction plate! Frank |
